EVENT Coverage: GUESS by Marciano & Harper’s Bazaar

On Thursday, May 19, fashion and dance became one at New York’s GUESS flagship store. GUESS by Marciano in partnership with Harper’s Bazaar, hosted a cocktail party to benefit the Joffrey Ballet School.  GUESS and Joffrey are an unusual collaboration you say? Not so much…dance-inspired ballet dresses sprinkled Guess’ summer line while dancers from the Joffrey Ballet School showed their fashion-edge by striking plies in the display windows and in front of the camera.

In between dressing room changes, attendees sipped cocktails and champagne and snacked on light hors d’oeuvres, all in the name of helping the Joffrey Ballet School continue its fifty-eight year history of transforming “passionate dance students into versatile, individualistic artists.”

The Guess summer line also included light linen dresses in pale greens and whites and lightweight sweater tops for summer, decorated with intricate clear stones. 

As if the fashion, dance, cocktails and hors d’oeuvres weren’t enough, the DJ kept the vibe in the store upbeat, so that shoppers could enjoy their own type of movement—-the kind fueled by excitement.

Joffrey Ballet School has shown it’s excellence in dance for over half a century; Guess by Maricano has proved its place as a fashion mainstay.  Putting the two together can only translate into years of success when dance and fashion combine.
