The penthouse of NYC’s Dream Hotel was the chosen venue to celebrate William Rast’s appearance in ENK NYC’s Trade Show.  Both William Rast and ENK NYC are on the rise to secure positions at the top of men’s fashion.

Unless you haven’t picked up a fashion magazine, men’s or women’s, since before 2009, you know that William Rast is not actually a person, per se, but a movement started by mega music artist Justin Timberlake and his partner Trace Ayala. The ENK NYC Trade Show is considered to be one of the top venues to exhibit key brands in men’s fashion in one stop. It’s been referred to as “one of the best edited shows.”

DJ Dexter Love pumped tunes as guest sipped on margaritas and munched on finger sandwiches while discussing the new additions to the line featured earlier in the day.

Justin Timberlake credits Barack Obama as the muse which inspired him to take his clothing line William Rast, to a new level. I bet you didn’t know that Obama was into fashion outside of the respectable suit and tie, did you?

Well, it’s not like Obama hangs around Bryant Park during Fashion Week or anything, but it was actually the way that he ran his 2008 presidential campaign that inspired Timberlake and Ayala, “to take it beyond” where they were. Being featured in an ENC NYC show is unarguably a sign of “taking it beyond.”

Admittedly, Timberlake has been credited as an individual fashionisto since 2009 when he was voted one of the 10 Most Stylish Men by GQ Magazine. Even before 2009, fans have given Timberlake several fashion-inspire monikers: Mr. Smooth, Shot and JT, the type of nickname that shows that your brand has truly blossomed to the level where you can be known, much like J. Lo or J. Hud, by only two initials—J.T.

Back to Obama’s influence in fashion, Timberlake said of Obama’s presidential run, it was “the birth of a new leadership, birth of a new era, birth of a new culture. And I think being who we are as a brand…so, that’s it — a new America.”
